We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform techniques relating to Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter and event Recorders, and pacemaker monitoring.
- Explain procedures to prepare patients for testing, such as ECG, stress testing, Holter monitoring, pacemaker monitoring, and related tests.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic cardiac equipment, including ECG machines, stress testing equipment, and Holter monitors.
- Monitor patients and scan test strips during cardiograms and stress tests, taking appropriate action upon recognition of cardiac arrhythmias or other abnormalities.
- Scan and analyze ECG, stress, Holter, and event monitor test strips, selecting and assessing appropriate portions of test strips for interpretation by medical staff.
- Transfer and assign ECGs in ECG Cardiology Management systems for interpretation by medical staff.
- Participate in Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance programs, providing information and input to the Manager or designate.
- Participate in the instruction/orientation of staff and/or students, assisting with departmental orientations, in-service presentations, and demonstrating procedures.
