The Lethbridge School Division is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Educational Assistant to join our dynamic team. As an Educational Assistant, you will work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff to provide targeted and specialized supports and services to help students effectively participate in their learning community.
Responsibilities will include assisting with and adapting academic tasks, implementing strategies to support socially appropriate behaviors, attending to physical and medical needs, and monitoring progress. You will work under the direction of teachers, primarily with identified students, and be adept at developing trust and rapport with students and staff.
As an integral part of our collaborative team, you will work with children/students with identified needs within the Early Education programs with behavioral issues and/or complex physical disabilities/developmental delays. You will be expected to assume other duties as required and be willing to participate in ongoing professional learning.
Requirements include a Grade 12 or General Educational Development (GED) diploma, with post-secondary education or experience in a related field being an asset. You will also be required to provide a police information check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, and a satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
