As an integral part of our design studio, you will contribute your expertise to a diverse range of projects, collaborating closely with senior designers, project managers, and clients.
- Design Development & Execution: You will independently manage 70% of the detailing and design development process for assigned projects. This includes coordinating with senior staff, administrative personnel, and sub-consultants to ensure seamless project execution.
- Regulatory Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of local building codes and regulations, specifically those pertaining to Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) submissions.
- Technical Proficiency: Possess advanced skills in Revit and AutoCAD, providing comprehensive support for all project phases and detailing levels. You will also contribute to shop drawing reviews and construction administration tasks under the guidance of senior designers.
- Client & Team Collaboration: Participate actively in on-site meetings with clients, sub-consultants, or internal teams as directed by the Senior Interior Designer or Project Manager.
- Creative Vision: Develop compelling space plans, furnish selections, and design details that effectively translate project concepts into tangible designs.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Guide and mentor junior staff members, delegating tasks effectively to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Software Mastery: Demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard software applications, including Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer.
- Organizational Excellence: Maintain meticulous attention to detail and demonstrate strong organizational skills, particularly in managing drawing files and lists.
- Communication & Collaboration: Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively convey design concepts and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- A Diploma or Degree from a recognized 3+ year Interior Design or Technology program.
- Minimum of [Number] years of post-graduation experience working as a Job Captain or in an intermediate design role on projects within Canada.
- Exceptional AutoCAD and Revit skills are essential.
