SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING AS NEEDED
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in health or human sciences is mandatory
- Active membership with a recognized professional regulatory body is required
- Formal education in addiction treatment and/or concurrent disorders is essential
- Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is necessary (training provided by the Health Centre upon hiring)
- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) certification is a plus
- Recent extensive clinical experience in mental health/psychiatric services or addiction treatment in both hospital and community environments is required
- Proven experience in designing, executing, and assessing concurrent disorder programs and related clinical initiatives in psychiatric or addiction settings is essential
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in best practices for concurrent disorders is required
- Understanding of psychiatric conditions and treatment methodologies is necessary
- Familiarity with psychotropic medications and their potential side effects is required
- Demonstrated knowledge and recent application of recovery-oriented principles is essential
- Experience with various therapeutic modalities including stages of change, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and relapse prevention is required
- Proven skills in delivering concurrent clinical treatment are essential
- Strong abilities in engaging patients as active participants in their healthcare are required
- Experience in providing individual and group counseling sessions is necessary
- Demonstrated capability in planning and leading team projects and meetings is essential
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with patients, families, and clinical/support teams is essential
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and ensure their successful execution is required
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills are essential
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and risk management practices applicable to the Forensic Program is required
- Cultural awareness of the patient demographics served by the Forensic Program and Regional Mental Health is essential
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
- Consistent attendance and a solid work history are necessary
- Commitment to ensuring safety for oneself, colleagues, patients, volunteers, and visitors is essential
- Support for and contribution to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events within the organization is required
- Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is mandatory. Unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the French requirement is met or if no successful bilingual candidates are available. A formal French proficiency assessment will be conducted.
