ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in health or human sciences is mandatory
  • Active membership with a recognized professional regulatory body is required
  • Formal education in addiction treatment and/or concurrent disorders is essential
  • Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is necessary (training provided by the Health Centre upon hiring)
  • Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) certification is a plus
  • Recent extensive clinical experience in mental health/psychiatric services or addiction treatment in both hospital and community environments is required
  • Proven experience in designing, executing, and assessing concurrent disorder programs and related clinical initiatives in psychiatric or addiction settings is essential
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in best practices for concurrent disorders is required
  • Understanding of psychiatric conditions and treatment methodologies is necessary
  • Familiarity with psychotropic medications and their potential side effects is required

North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) serves as a distinctive healthcare provider with three core functions: delivering acute care services to North Bay and neighboring communities, acting as the district referral center for specialized services for smaller communities, and providing specialized mental health services for all of northeastern Ontario.
