Position Overview:

The role of a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I involves executing tasks in both laboratory settings and diagnostic imaging, primarily in rural healthcare facilities. As a vital member of the inter-professional team, you will be entrusted with the collection and analysis of biological samples, performing X-ray examinations, conducting ECGs, and documenting findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures and conduct venipuncture and micropuncture.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring routine maintenance and quality control measures are adhered to.
  • Manage inventory and supplies necessary for laboratory and imaging operations.

Classification: Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech I

Union: HSAA FAC PROF/TECH

Unit and Program: Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging

Employment Type: Temporary Part Time

Shift Details: Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and on-call duties, with a typical cycle comprising three shifts over two weeks.

Salary Range: $35.45 - $46.69 per hour

Qualifications Required:

Completion of a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT) is essential. Candidates must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
