About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at Jagir Contracting Inc. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of buildings and structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-construction: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Construction: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Finishing work: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Maintenance and repair: Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals and industrial plants.
Work Environment

As a Carpenter, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment, often at heights and in dusty conditions. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma is required, but relevant training and experience are essential.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry or a related field is required.
  • Physical demands: The role requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking and physical activity, including bending, crouching and kneeling.
  • Workload: The workload is large and physically demanding, with tight deadlines to meet.
