Registered Technologist, Medical Imaging Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Technologist to join our team in the Nuclear Medicine department at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will be responsible for performing imaging examinations in Nuclear Medicine, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide complete patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all Nuclear Medicine and bone density imaging examinations and procedures as required, and all other duties as requested by supervisory personnel, implement proper procedures (re: health, safety, and radiation protection) for patients, employees, and visitors
- Work as part of an inter-professional team with physicians and other healthcare professionals within the hospital to provide complete patient care
- Work in accordance with departmental radiation safety policies and procedures and in compliance with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission regulations
- Optimize the processes and quality of images provided
- Assume operational responsibility when on shift
- Assist the Radiologist when required
- Follow proper procedures for care of equipment, imaging rooms and supplies
- Adhere to established policies and procedures of the Department of Medical Imaging at North York General Hospital
Requirements
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in Nuclear Medicine required
- Bachelor's Degree and Advanced Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology approved under the CMRITO required
- Ontario Association for Radiologists ADT certification is preferred
- BCLS certification an asset
- Membership with OAMRS/CAMRT Specialty Certificate is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with angio catheter insertions, IV skills and insertion is an asset
- One year of recent post-graduate Nuclear Medicine clinical experience as Registered Technologist including SPECT/ CT is preferred
- Recent hospital experience is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, as well as independently
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills
- Bilingualism in French/English is an asset
