Meat Cutter/Butcher

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter/Butcher to join our team at Conestoga Meats. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing standard cuts of meat, as well as removing bones and preparing special orders.
Key Responsibilities:- Cut and trim meat to meet customer specifications
- Remove bones from meat and prepare special orders
- Wrap and package prepared meats
- Train and assist other meat cutters as needed
- Use manual cutting utensils, including knives
- Fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Handling heavy loads and working in a cold/refrigerated environment
- Some areas may have odours
- Wholesaler, meat packing establishment
We offer a competitive wage range of $23.01 to $26.87 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, life insurance, vision care, pension, and group insurance. Additionally, you will receive an afternoon shift premium of $1.25 and have the opportunity to work 40 hours per week with weekly pay by direct deposit.
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in butchery or a related field
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Commitment to safety and quality processes
- Basic English communication skills
- Basic security clearance
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, with varying start times between 6:00 am and 7:00 am for the day shift and 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm for the afternoon shift. Candidates must be able to find their own transportation, as public transportation is not available.
