Job Summary

The YMCA of Northeastern Ontario is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Team Lead - Aquatics. This is a full-time position that will be housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Chippewa location in North Bay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership on the pool deck during the aquatic program schedule.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities, programs, and special events.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding programs promptly.
  • Be a positive role model for all program participants.
  • Participate in recruitment and hiring process including job postings, interviews, and reference checks.
  • Provide leadership in staff onboarding, including orientation, training, and mentorship.
  • Management of course creation, registration, and waitlists.
  • Communication with program participant guardians.
  • Complete incident reports for submission to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization.

Qualifications

  • Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
  • National Lifeguard certification (NL) in good standing.
  • YMCA Swim Instructor Certification, YMCA Swim Instructor Trainer and/or Lifesaving Society Instructor and examiner preferred.
  • Aquafit instruction preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C.
  • Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
