Position Overview

As a Meat Cutter at DESI MANDI, you will play a crucial role in our grocery operations, ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
Work Environment

This position is based in a supermarket/grocery store setting, where you will be part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare meats for processing by cleaning and cutting.
  • Efficiently cut carcasses, sides, and quarters.
  • Trim and prepare standard cuts of meat for sale.
  • Wrap and package meats to maintain freshness.
  • Remove bones from various meat products.
  • Weigh and price meat items accurately.
  • Process poultry into parts for retail.
  • Prepare and clean fish and shellfish for display.
  • Engage with customers to sell meat products.
  • Supervise and train junior butchers and meat cutters.
  • Grind meats and create specialty sausages.
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and seafood.
  • Handle special orders from customers.
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with the following equipment is essential:

  • Band saw
  • Manual cutting tools
  • Power grinder
  • Salami mixer and cooker
  • Sausage machine
