Position Overview:
WSP Canada is seeking an experienced Manager in Land Development and Municipal Engineering. This role is pivotal in overseeing our engineering projects and leading a dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess over 15 years of relevant experience in engineering, project oversight, and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute strategies for business growth, ensuring collaboration with various internal departments.
- Oversee and execute projects related to transportation, land development, and municipal infrastructure, which includes drafting reports, proposals, and managing client interactions.
- Assess and manage the workload and staffing within the department to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Collaborate with leadership and other managers to enhance inter-office cooperation and resource sharing, ensuring project objectives are met efficiently.
- Accountable for the financial and operational success of the department, including meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Manage resources effectively, including recruitment, team development, performance evaluations, and salary assessments.
- Implement and monitor career development initiatives for team members to foster skills enhancement and retention.
- Provide leadership and promote collaboration across various disciplines.
- Guide and empower a diverse team of professionals and technical staff.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or a Certificate in Engineering Technology with a minimum of 15 years of consulting or municipal experience; at least 8 years in a managerial role.
- Proven ability to work autonomously.
- Experience in business development and client management.
- Strong mentoring capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in client service and proposal/report writing.
- In-depth knowledge of municipal clients and the regional market.
- Expertise in project management, particularly in Transportation, Land Development, and Municipal engineering, with specific experience in water, sanitary, and stormwater projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
