As the Site Lead in Alberta, you will play a crucial role in the management and upkeep of wind turbines and associated systems.
Position Overview:
In your role as Site Lead, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operational efficiency of wind turbines at your designated site. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and resolving issues that may lead to turbine malfunctions, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide training and mentorship to Service Technicians, ensuring they are well-versed in the assembly, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of wind turbine generators and related equipment.
- Support technicians in implementing preventative maintenance strategies, including advanced diagnostic surveys.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components associated with wind turbines.
- Conduct safety assessments to identify potential hazards in operational areas.
- Educate staff on the proper use of safety equipment and energy control measures.
- Utilize Root Cause Analysis to effectively address equipment failures.
- Manage tool and parts inventory to ensure operational readiness.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Service Technicians.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and compliance records.
- Ensure adherence to safety, health, and cleanliness standards across the facility.
- Schedule and monitor preventative maintenance tasks to align with established protocols.
- Keep current with required training certifications and qualifications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the wind energy sector.
- Preferred educational background includes an associate degree or technical certification.
- Possess necessary training certifications for job functions.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical testing tools is essential.
- Ability to work with medium and high-voltage systems.
- Proficient in standard software applications and computer usage.
- Capable of thriving in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and shifts.
- Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Physical capability to climb heights and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Adaptability to various working conditions, including outdoor environments.
- Must possess a valid Canadian driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to meet specific health and safety standards.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment physical assessment.
- Experience with SAP, J.D. Edwards, or Maximo systems is advantageous.
- Eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship and ability to travel internationally.
