Telecom Network Analyst

CN is seeking a dedicated Telecom Network Analyst to join our dynamic Information & Technology (I&T) team.

As part of CN's core infrastructure, the Telecom Network Operations Center (NOC) plays a vital role in ensuring seamless network connectivity and optimal service delivery for both internal and external customers.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide Level 1 & Level 2 incident resolution support across all telecom services.
  • Track, manage, and coordinate work activities related to telecom incidents.
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance to CN Field Technicians.
  • Effectively manage and resolve CN IT Telecom trouble tickets.
  • Monitor and manage events within the CN Core Transport Network.
  • Oversee and coordinate fiber restoration and maintenance activities for CN.
  • Participate in on-call pager duty rotations.
Your Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong technical background and a passion for network operations.

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in the telecommunications field, including hands-on experience with telecom hardware and management platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of telecom configuration, management, and monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Solid understanding of common troubleshooting methods for telecommunications equipment and lines.
  • A results-oriented approach with a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
Assets

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes.
  • Relevant certifications such as NRS I / Nokia Network Routing Specialist or CCNA.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  • Experience working within a large IT organization.
  • Knowledge of facility management systems (Power plant, HVAC, Telemetry).
Technical Expertise

The Telecom Operations team requires expertise in the following communications technologies and protocols:

  • Ethernet, TCP/IP, and related networking protocols.
  • Fiber optic communication systems.
  • SDN (Software-Defined Networking) concepts.
  • Network security best practices.
