Strategic Policy Implementation Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified instructor to teach a graduate-level policy course at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will have a strong background in public policy and economics, with experience in teaching and policy practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a three-hour graduate-level policy course, developing and delivering course material, assignments, and tests.
  • Provide bi-weekly break-out group leadership and office hours for academic counseling of students.
  • Supervise teaching assistants and ensure the smooth operation of the course.
  • Develop and implement a syllabus that aligns with the course objectives and learning outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in public policy or economics, with specialization in finance.
  • Extensive and senior professional policy practitioner experience.
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level.
  • Completed PhD preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and implementing policy initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of policy practice and its application in a dynamic political and stakeholder environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
