Become a vital part of the Attridge team
Attridge Transportation is on the lookout for qualified candidates for the role of part-time Driver Trainer in our Hamilton office. The Driver Trainer plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive training on the safe operation of School Buses, adhering to MTO regulations and Attridge's safety protocols for both new and existing drivers. This position reports directly to the local Safety Manager and involves instructing drivers in classroom settings, on-road training, and utilizing various training methods, including online platforms.
Successful candidates may have the opportunity to gain further certifications in First Aid Instruction, School Bus Driver Improvement Instruction, and/or Z endorsement training.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a valid B license
- Ability to obtain a Z endorsement
- Submission of an MTO abstract reflecting 0 demerit points and 0 collisions
- No preventable incidents recorded as a bus driver
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening at the time of application
- A minimum of three (3) years of documented experience driving a 71-passenger school bus
- Strong interpersonal abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent time management capabilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team across various locations
- Possession of a valid Signing Authority (SA#) is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in teaching both classroom and on-road skills is a plus
This is a part-time role, scheduled Monday through Friday during morning and afternoon school runs. Some Saturday and evening shifts may be required. Candidates must be available to work during summer and school breaks, excluding statutory holidays.
