Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Labourer to join our team. As an Asphalt Labourer, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our highway and paving projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rake and redistribute asphalt mix as it leaves the screed to prepare the area for rolling;
• Operate equipment and tools to spread asphalt efficiently and maintain a good pace;
• Shovel excess asphalt and sweep up debris to ensure a clean work environment;
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, including operating hand and power tools;
• Be aware of surroundings at all times to ensure a safe working environment;
• Maintain a clean job site, picking up tools and equipment to eliminate potential hazards;
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures;
• Ensure the safety of fellow employees;
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years' experience in a construction environment is an asset;
• Valid driver's license in good standing;
• Ability to work in a team environment, sometimes requiring long hours;
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner;
• Effective communication skills to ensure that projects are completed properly;
• Working safely is a condition of employment.
