Join Our Team as a Glass Installation Specialist

M&T Glass is seeking a talented and experienced Glass Installation Specialist to enhance our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in glass installation and demonstrate a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.

Position Overview

This is a permanent role offering between 30 to 42.5 hours of work per week. Proficiency in English or French is required.

Qualifications
  • No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is necessary.
  • Prior experience in glass installation is preferred.
Work Environment
  • Engagement in outdoor projects.
  • Ability to work at heights.
Work Setting
  • Involvement in historical restoration projects.
  • Experience in various sectors including commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, and retail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess glass, frames, and material needs.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.
  • Measure, mark, and cut glass with precision.
  • Assemble and install glass products effectively.
  • Estimate costs and materials required for projects.
  • Oversee the work of other team members.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices.
Training and Certifications
  • Certification for working at heights is essential.
  • Completion of Occupational Health and Safety training is required.
Materials and Equipment
  • Familiarity with various materials such as acrylic plexiglass, float glass, mirrors, and sealed units.
  • Experience with frame fabrication including curtain walls and aluminum framing members.
  • Proficient in glass cutting techniques using cutting wheels and circular cutters.
  • Specialization in installation of skylights, stained glass, aluminum storefronts, and shower doors.
  • Utilization of tools like carbide and diamond bits.
