Pathfind is seeking a qualified Risk Assessment Manager to oversee risk-based regulatory practices within a not-for-profit public agency. This role serves as the primary contact for regulatory oversight between the Corporation and designated financial institutions. The Risk Assessment Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and soundness of these institutions through comprehensive risk monitoring and assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guaranteeing the security of deposits held by financial institutions.
- Regulating financial services entities and enforcing relevant legislation.
- Providing guidance to financial institutions on best business practices.
- Evaluating the performance of financial institutions and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and enhance performance.
- Setting individual loan approval limits for financial institutions and adjudicating loans that exceed these thresholds.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in risk assessment within financial institutions, focusing on areas such as asset/liability management, credit, financial analysis, capital, earnings, liquidity, governance, internal audit, market risk, and operational risk.
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the financial sector. Professional designations or advanced studies in finance or risk management (e.g., CPA, FRM, CFA) are advantageous.
- Familiarity with relevant financial sector legislation is beneficial.
- Experience with credit union systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of IT governance, security, or audit practices is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, active listening, and written communication.
- Excellent presentation, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in technology tools, including MS Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and other platforms for effective hybrid meetings.
