Project Assistant

About the Role
At Colliers, we're committed to delivering exceptional project solutions that make a real difference in our communities. As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting our team of experts to lead major capital building and infrastructure projects across British Columbia.
Your Responsibilities
- Work closely with experienced project managers to learn the skills and knowledge required for successful project delivery
- Provide project support, including schedule updates, progress reports, and preparation of tender and contract documents
- Engage with contractors and consultants to ensure smooth project execution
- Attend project and site meetings to capture action items and ensure effective communication
- Provide a communication link between project managers and stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Support other projects as needed, providing relief and ensuring continuity
- Ensure project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers' Quality Management System
What You'll Need
- A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project management or a related field, with a focus on delivering projects in various sectors, including healthcare, education, and municipal/provincial
- Actively working towards obtaining the Project Management Professional Designation (PMP) through the Project Management Institute
- Previous experience in consultant and design management, construction contract administration, and project financial management is an asset
- Strong understanding of project delivery models, including design-build, construction management, and design-bid-build
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- A results-oriented approach with the ability to take responsibility and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Project
