Procurement Specialist

Are you a results-driven professional with a passion for achieving success in a fast-paced environment? Well is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Specialist to join their growing Merchandising team.

This role is a 12-month contract with a focus on sourcing new vendors and distributors, building seasonal programs, and managing inventory levels to maximize sales and turns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning the growth and development of a specific category, including aggressive revenue, margin, and SKU count targets.
  • Sourcing new vendors and distributors to onboard a steady lineup of new and innovative brands.
  • Building seasonal programs by creating a robust assortment, meeting targets, and solidifying Well's position as a gifting destination.
  • Managing inventory levels and proactively de-listing unproductive SKUs and vendors to maximize sales and turns.
  • Setting strategic pricing for all SKUs for the category and determining promotional pricing.
  • Building weekly promotions, in conjunction with key vendors, to meet promotional targets and generate traffic and excitement.
  • Maximizing relationships with vendors, including securing coop and rebate dollars.
  • Creating insight on category/SKU performance and regularly adapting the category to shifts in market trends.
  • Working with the Marketing team to develop a robust promotional calendar.
  • Related duties connected with making the category and business successful.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Procurement experience with a minimum of 3-5 years experience.
  • Previous experience within the Retail industry is an asset.
  • Track record of success working for a top-tier retailer or brand.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
