About the Role

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assessing risks, reporting on them, and proposing solutions related to fire prevention and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and develop action plans to address any issues.
  • Analyze fire alarm causes, provide solutions, and validate changes with stakeholders.
  • Support the Lease Management Team in preparing Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) and revising analysis and impact reports.
  • Act as a liaison with tenants, maintaining positive relationships and providing support with evacuation plans and fire prevention awareness training.
  • Develop and implement fire protection projects and action plans, and manage and report nonconformities and critical incidents.

Requirements

  • College studies (ACS) or a university degree in fire prevention.
  • More than 3 years, up to 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Good knowledge of fire prevention techniques, practices, and laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and adapt to changing situations.
