Role Summary:
The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of financial accounting, taxation, and accounts payable functions. This position involves managing the financial closing process, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance during audits. The manager will also engage in strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing processes, systems, and product offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Support: Oversee and support all financial accounting and accounts payable functions. Review the work of internal teams and external partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Financial Closing: Engage in the monthly and quarterly financial closing processes, providing insights into significant variances in operational expenses. Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison for both internal and external audit engagements, facilitating data requests and managing support across departments. Project Involvement: Participate in various initiatives, including process enhancements and system upgrades. Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures. Team Development: Focus on mentoring and developing staff, promoting cross-training and knowledge sharing to enhance team capabilities.Qualifications:
Extensive technical accounting expertise with a solid understanding of IFRS and internal controls. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, and taxation, ideally within the financial services sector.Education & Credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CA designation is required.Skills & Competencies:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively. Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Ability to build credibility with both internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with IT systems and the ability to assist in designing data queries and specifications. High integrity, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic. Adaptable and innovative, with a readiness to embrace change. Energetic and able to thrive in a fast-paced business environment.
