About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at GL Excavating Ltd. as an Excavation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and cranes, to perform excavation and construction tasks.
  • Measure and Estimate: Measure distance, volume, length, and weight of materials and equipment, and estimate costs and materials required for projects.
  • Perform Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning and extend its lifespan.
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution.
  • Work in a Team Environment: Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Work outdoors in various locations, including construction sites and other industrial settings.
  • Work Conditions: Work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail required.
  • Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
