Job Overview:
The High-Risk Client Program comprises specialized teams with expertise in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) tasked with performing enhanced due diligence on high-risk clients. Within this program, a dedicated team focuses on conducting thorough investigations of high-risk clients and other specific categories of elevated risk customers.
The Senior Investigator in Financial Crime Risk Management (Enhanced Due Diligence, High-Risk Client Program) serves as a Quality Assurance Reviewer and reports directly to the Group Manager of AML Financial Crime Investigations.
The Senior Investigator is accountable for:
- Executing quality control assessments of comprehensive EDD reviews and AML investigations specifically related to high-risk clients and other referrals within the High-Risk Client Program.
- Offering support to the Group Manager of AML Financial Crime Investigations by providing constructive feedback and coaching as necessary.
- Conducting complete EDD reviews and AML investigations, as well as second-level evaluations of enhanced due diligence assessments, while collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying and reporting procedural deficiencies to relevant business units.
- Cultivating and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external partners for investigative purposes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent experience is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian AML legislation, requirements, and guidelines.
- Proven experience in investigating complex and sensitive money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions cases.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong decision-making abilities, critical thinking skills, and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
