Position Overview:
The Coatings Operations Supervisor is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the painting crew. This role involves managing workloads effectively and guiding the paint team to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise various projects and their respective scopes of work, optimizing manpower, equipment, and resources according to project urgency, inter-trade scheduling, and environmental conditions. Collaborate closely with the Project Management team, providing insights on work planning, manpower and equipment needs, as well as safety protocols. Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Production, Project Management, clients, subcontractors, and inspectors. Monitor and document weather and atmospheric conditions affecting project execution. Prepare quality assurance documents, along with inspection and testing plans and procedures. Conduct daily inspections of coating operations, ensuring compliance with overcoat timelines. Maintain and service equipment utilized in coating tasks. Manage and oversee paint supply inventory effectively. Ensure proper disposal of waste generated by the paint department. Evaluate and manage the performance of all direct reports. Collaborate with HR to address any attendance-related issues. Foster skill development and job knowledge, identifying high performers for potential promotions and increased responsibilities. Actively participate in supervisory meetings, providing updates on project progress, addressing safety concerns, and reporting on manpower availability. Undertake additional duties as required.Required Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a coatings management role. At least 5 years of experience within the Marine sector. NACE Level 2 certification or equivalent European qualification (e.g., FROSIO). Strong organizational capabilities. Excellent communication skills.
