Position Overview:

The Senior Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing month-end closing processes and ensuring financial compliance for the Mitten business unit. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting in Canada, this position encompasses various general accounting responsibilities and internal corporate reporting duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and finalize the month-end financial reporting package, which includes journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Facilitate the upload of monthly results for consolidation purposes.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance protocols for SOX controls.
  • Compile ABL support on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in providing budget variance analysis for different cost centers.
  • Support both internal and external audit processes.
  • Conduct daily and monthly bank transaction reconciliations.
  • Offer troubleshooting assistance for merchant and remote banking issues.
  • Manage intercompany invoicing and reconciliation tasks.
  • Analyze and process employee expense reports.
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Possession of a CPA designation.

Skills and Attributes:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a deadline-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Sage 300 is advantageous.
