Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. The successful candidate will have extensive corporate accounting experience and hold a CPA designation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end activities in the corporate accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Account for compensation, including long-term incentive, severance, and vacation accruals, in accordance with IFRS guidelines.
  • Account for debt financing and cross-currency swap entries, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Participate in merger and acquisition, divestiture analysis, and accounting, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process efficiencies.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, streamlining accounting operations and enhancing efficiency.
Requirements
  • CPA designation with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in corporate accounting.
  • Proficiency in SAP or other large ERP systems, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate accounting principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
