About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical VDC Coordinator to join our team at Plan Group. As a key member of our project team, you will play a critical role in the development and coordination of electrical construction design models and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed BIM models of electrical systems, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain BIM scope of work, adhering to project BIM Execution Plans and company standards.
  • Prepare electrical model content for VDC coordination meetings, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and company standards.
  • Develop installation drawings for a wide range of electrical building systems, including power distribution, branch power, and lighting.
  • Model and coordinate electrical infrastructure, resolving model clashes with other trades.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop drawings efficiently and accurately, while maintaining project schedules and constraints.
  • Develop drawings showing necessary details and assemblies of electrical equipment, including dimensions, fastening methods, and slab coordinates.
  • Navigate and interpret structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings for various occupancy types and spaces.
  • Host and attend coordination meetings, supporting team decisions and strategies.
  • Prepare effective clash detection reports to maintain project order, schedule, and quality.
  • Upload and maintain installation drawings in project document management platforms.
  • Communicate and respond to VDC requests from General Contractors, site teams, and other trades.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, or BIM-related degree.
  • Post-secondary training in electrical or BIM field, with experience in the construction industry an asset.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems from design and installation perspectives, including power distribution, branch power, lighting, fire safety, security, and communications systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products, including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and ACC platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, with emphasis on project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives within a plan and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
