The Robinhood Security Cryptography and IAM Platform team is dedicated to delivering cryptographic services and libraries that underpin Robinhood's infrastructure for key management and data protection. This team is also responsible for engineering solutions and providing advisory services to enhance Workforce IAM capabilities across Robinhood's proprietary systems and services. Our mission is to elevate the developer experience with our cryptographic tools while establishing streamlined processes for cryptography and authentication throughout the organization.
Daily Responsibilities:- Architect and design extensive systems within the team, balancing risk management with long-term sustainability.
- Create robust technical solutions with a strong emphasis on engineering excellence.
- Enhance system efficiency, scalability, developer experience, and security, while minimizing privacy and safety vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate across various engineering teams to deliver high-quality, large-scale technical projects.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
- Work closely with your manager to boost team performance and contribute to building a high-functioning engineering unit.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in Software Engineering, with a strong focus on security.
- Exceptional skills in architecture and design.
- A genuine interest in mentoring and coaching others.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to grasp the overarching vision.
- Experience in developing solutions that achieve immediate results while keeping long-term objectives in view.
- Proven communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within and across engineering teams.
- Proficient in Go or Python, with strong problem-solving capabilities and solid debugging skills.
- Expertise in cloud-native platforms and container orchestration technologies (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, Kafka).
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols/frameworks (OpenID Connect, OAuth, etc.) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience with key management systems or data encryption is beneficial but not essential.
- Demonstrated ownership and experience in building and managing high-scale, distributed systems throughout the software lifecycle.
