Job Overview

The Building Operations Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our facilities at the FERNIE STANFORD HOTEL & RESORT. This position involves a variety of maintenance tasks that contribute to the overall comfort and safety of our guests.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for more significant repairs.
  • Engage contractors for maintenance and repair services as needed.
  • Perform minor appliance repairs to ensure functionality.
  • Conduct safety and security inspections regularly.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including painting and drywall repairs.
  • Care for plants, lawns, and gardens through regular watering and maintenance.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to maintain safety.
Equipment Utilization
  • Utilize swimming pool maintenance and cleaning equipment.
  • Operate snow removal equipment such as snowblowers.
