Data Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Visual Information Products Inc. as a key member of our data analysis team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within our IT infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain computer databases to support business decision-making
  • Document reporting needs, queries, logic, results, and recommendations to other information systems professionals
  • Liaise with staff on data requirements, collection, and availability
  • Test data models and database management systems to ensure data integrity
  • Design and develop databases to meet business needs
  • Operate database management systems to analyze data and provide insights
  • Develop and implement data administration policy, standards, and models
  • Research and document data requirements, data collection, and administration policy
  • Develop policies and procedures for network access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data
  • Lead and coordinate teams of data administrators in the development and implementation of data policies, standards, and models
  • Write scripts related to stored procedures and triggers
Requirements:
  • Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) skills
  • PowerBuilder experience
  • R programming skills
  • MS SQL Server and MySQL database management skills
  • Data analysis software proficiency
  • MS Office skills
  • Python programming skills
