We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Technician to join our team at Commission Scolaire Central Quebec / Central Quebec School Board. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs to thrive and succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Teamwork

Work closely with our teaching team, families, and external resources to provide targeted support for students with special needs, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to their education.

Innovative Support Methods

Develop and implement innovative support methods and design customized learning strategies to meet the unique needs of each student, promoting their academic and personal growth.

Personalized Intervention Plans

Contribute to the creation, development, and implementation of personalized intervention plans, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure student success.

Student Progress Monitoring

Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure they stay on track and reach their full potential.

Learning Environment

Develop and lead diversified activities to reinforce various student competencies, creating an open and stimulating environment that fosters learning and growth.

Academic Support

Provide direct academic support, particularly in basic skills, lessons, and homework, helping students to build a strong foundation for future success.

Behavioral Support

Adopt a proactive approach to supporting students in their adaptation and behavioral management, using optimal and adapted communication techniques to ensure their well-being and success.

Resource Referral

Provide information on social issues and refer students and their families to specialized resources as needed, ensuring they receive the support they require.

Student Supervision

Manage the supervision of students requiring specific follow-up after sanctions and organize their school reintegration, ensuring a smooth transition back to the classroom.

Documentation and Reporting

Rigorously document observations and interventions, keep student files up to date, and prepare detailed reports to support student progress and success.

Medication Administration

Manage the administration of medication according to medical and school guidelines, and intervene in first aid as necessary, ensuring student safety and well-being.

Training and Development

Guide and train new team members and supervise support staff tasks related to technical operations, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Emerging Needs

Carry out any additional tasks adapted to emerging needs, ensuring the school board's commitment to providing a high-quality education for all students.
