About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Field Service Technician, where you'll have the chance to work on a wide range of electrical power systems, from low to medium voltage switchgear to automatic transfer switches. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining these complex systems, ensuring our customers' operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance programs for our customers in Vancouver and surrounding areas.
  • Perform site investigations, equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of power distribution, control, and automation systems.
  • Collaborate closely with our local field service office and Thomson Power System's headquarters in Langley, BC, Canada.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors, ensuring exceptional quality and technical service.
  • Track and submit project reports in a timely manner, including field reports and expenses.
  • Adhere to standard testing and maintenance procedures for breaker, switchgear, relay, control, and automation equipment.
  • Support technical training programs for customers, partners, and employees on new and existing products.
Requirements
  • Hands-on experience in preventative and predictive maintenance of power distribution and generation systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Red Seal certified Industrial Electrician or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Self-directed learner with a strong desire to develop expertise in electrical power and distribution field services.
  • Basic understanding of Generator/AVR controls and synchronization/paralleling theory.
  • Proficiency in using computer software, including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong ability to implement.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license required.
