Metal Recycling Labourer

American Iron & Metal is seeking a motivated individual to take on the role of a General Labourer within our Metal Recycling Operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring efficient processing and sorting of metals.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize materials based on established quality standards.
- Utilize forklifts for material handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work environment.
- Work effectively in both indoor and outdoor settings, regardless of weather conditions.
- Engage in sorting, picking, processing, and shearing of metal components.
- Prepare materials for dispatch.
- Operate tow motors as required.
- Perform additional general labour tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is advantageous.
- Ability to lift weights up to 50lbs.
- Experience with non-ferrous metals is a plus.
- Forklift certification is beneficial.
- Demonstrates responsibility and a conscientious work ethic.
- Adherence to health and safety protocols is essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team-oriented setting.
- Comfortable working in a loud and dusty atmosphere.

- Uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
- Comprehensive group health benefits and a retirement plan are available.
Work Schedule: Full-time position with the possibility of overtime compensation after 44 hours.
