About the Role

As a Network Analyst at Vancity, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and securely. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a wide range of network platforms, from core switching and routing to cloud connectivity and security solutions.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical guidance on system design, administration, operation, and configuration for Vancity's infrastructure. This includes optimizing existing technology, conducting trend analysis, and managing the lifecycle of our networking platforms.
  • Plan and execute network technologies in alignment with organizational operating methodologies. Your focus will be on ensuring a highly stable and secure network infrastructure that consistently meets service level goals. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective network solutions.
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain foundational network platforms encompassing wide area networks (WAN), campus networks, disaster recovery systems, contact centers, cloud environments, security measures, and wireless infrastructure. Your goal is to create robust solutions that address daily business needs, keep pace with evolving security demands, and enhance the user experience.
  • Provide second-level technical support to the IT Service Desk, ensuring that service level goals and IT standards are consistently met.
  • Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis for both business and technology applications. Based on your findings, you'll recommend optimized, cost-effective, and secure network designs that effectively address business and technological challenges.
  • Manage and prioritize work order queues, consulting with internal teams and vendors to ensure efficient and effective organizational support. You'll champion continuous improvement through technical trend analysis, proactive problem identification, and lifecycle management of our network infrastructure.

What You Bring:
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in core network infrastructure technologies, including switching, routing, voice communication, load balancers, and cloud computing.
  • Solid understanding of security principles and technologies such as VPNs, firewalls, and best practices for secure network design.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows infrastructure components like DNS, Active Directory (AD), and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with virtualization concepts and technologies.
  • Understanding of physical infrastructure principles, including device racking, cabling, and data center best practices.
  • Successful completion of the Cisco CCNP certification.
  • A valid driver's license.
