Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Junior AV Installation Specialist to join our team at Matrix Video Communications Corp. As a Junior AV Technician, you will be responsible for performing audio visual installation tasks, including cable pulls, connector installation, and equipment mounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the guidance of senior technicians to complete AV projects
  • Perform cable pulls, soldering, crimping, and terminating audio, video, and network cables
  • Hang monitors, projectors, microphones, and speakers on walls and ceilings using anchors, Unistrut, and mounts
  • Review Bill of Materials, Drawings, and Project Scope to prepare for site activities
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Load and unload AV equipment at the shop and worksite
  • Work overtime as needed to meet client promises
  • Travel to out-of-town locations, including overnight stays, as required
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools, including drills
  • Knowledge of low-voltage systems and signal flow for audio, video, and control
  • Troubleshooting, quality checking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights
Education and/or Experience
  • Education in Electronics or a related field is preferred
  • Networking or IT background is also preferred
Safety Requirements
  • Bondable and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights
  • Trade certifications, such as WHMIS, fall arrest, and scissor lift, are an asset
