About the Role:
CareerBeacon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Body Shop Manager to lead our collision repair team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring high-quality repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, providing a positive work environment for employees and an excellent customer experience.
- Customer Relationships: Maintain positive relationships with insurance agents, dealerships, fleet accounts, and other customers.
- Damage Appraisal: Inspect qualified vehicles and assist in writing damage appraisals.
- Customer Communication: Inform customers about the repair process, including insurance claims processing, payment procedures, repair techniques, repair needs, and expected delivery date of repair.
- Quality Control: Monitor progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring that proper repair and safety procedures are followed.
- Repair Inspection: Ensure all completed repairs are inspected before delivering customer vehicles, explains warranty and quality control process with all customers.
- Work Order Management: Review work orders, assign tasks to employees, and verify the quality of work performed.
- Customer Complaints: Handle customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee ordering of replacement parts and body shop supplies, maintaining excellent relationships with dealers and suppliers.
- Training and Development: Facilitate and/or conduct technical training and sends employees to appropriate training schools as needed.
- Maintenance and Housekeeping: Monitor the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other large, fixed assets to ensure long-term usage and value.
- Employee Management: Hires, trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of all body shop employees.
- Financial Management: Review financials for the shop.
Requirements:
- Management Experience: Minimum 2 years of management experience in a collision repair facility.
- Estimating Software: Fluent in Estimating Software (Audatex and Mitchell) considered an asset.
- Industry Training: I-CAR training or other industry training considered an asset.
- Adaptability: Flexible/adaptable to constant change.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
- Leadership Skills: Able to motivate and manage production team.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
