About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Hakuna Matata Child Care Centre Inc. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Child Care and Supervision: Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records and submitting written observations on children.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
  • Health and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a child care setting.
  • Certifications: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Non-smoking, air-conditioned child care centre in an urban area.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week.
