Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our next-generation game and creative platform, Project Rene. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and globally available web services that support millions of Sims players.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop responsive, performant, and massively scalable web services that support millions of Sims players.
  • Design and implement responsive and performant user interfaces built on the latest web technologies.
  • Integrate with internal and external backend services, collaborating with other engineers to iterate and improve the overall system.
  • Author and review technical design documents and specifications detailing software requirements.
  • Maintain a suite of automated tests that validate performance and correctness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a hands-on coding role.
  • Experience with client/server architecture and building APIs that run on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with Javascript or Typescript and shipping software built with these technologies.
  • Ability to own large systems and features from design to deployment, including live support.
  • Experience with load testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance of web applications.
  • Desire to work with client engineers, backend engineers, and designers to iteratively add features and bring designs to life.
