Role Overview

Treaty 8 Urban Child & Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate One-On-One Support Worker to join our team. This role will provide individualized support to First Nations young people aged 18 – 26 as they prepare for independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support, assistance, and collaboration with young adults in an individual-focused approach.
  • Build trust and engagement with young adults, promoting independence and goal achievement.
  • Support young adults in decision-making and lifestyle choices, including attending activities, events, and outings.
  • Coordinate, plan, and organize recreational and social activities that promote engagement and growth.
  • Offer resources and information in crucial areas such as parenting, culture, budgeting, meal planning, and life skills.
  • Assist with application forms for services and programs, providing guidance as young adults navigate through them.
  • Promote well-being through an Indigenous worldview, fostering a holistic approach to support.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Youth Worker.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License, reliable vehicle with $2 million liability insurance, and a satisfactory 3-year driver's abstract.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including vulnerable sector and Child Intervention (Welfare) Record check (dated within 3 months upon hiring).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Database).
  • Familiarity with First Nations communities, culture, and language is an asset.
