About the Opportunity
The New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), in partnership with the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) and WorkingNB, is seeking qualified Instructors to deliver Workplace Essential Skills (WES) training to adults across New Brunswick. This project aims to empower individuals by enhancing their essential skills, enabling them to better align with current job market demands.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver and facilitate classroom-based WES training for unemployed or underemployed individuals, utilizing both face-to-face and virtual learning methods.
- Guide participants in developing essential skills such as reading, writing, numeracy, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, collaboration, creativity, innovation, and digital literacy.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Development Manager to ensure program success and alignment with project goals.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Diploma or Degree in a relevant field, coupled with practical experience in adult education or training.
- Demonstrated understanding of the WES methodology, competency-based learning, and inclusive teaching practices.
- In-depth knowledge of employability skills, essential skills, and workplace training methodologies.
- Experience working with unemployed or underemployed individuals, providing guidance and support in their skill development.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and effective instructional strategies.
Professional Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Group facilitation and individualized instruction skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate team-based activities.
- Flexibility in managing multiple tasks and adapting to changing circumstances.
- Analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to make sound judgments.
- Creative, independent, and flexible approach to teaching.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a post-secondary teaching environment. Fluency in English, French, or both is highly desirable.
