Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) within our Adult Inpatient Mental Health unit, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and evidence-based care to patients experiencing mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care that supports patient recovery and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, medication administration, and wound care, within the scope of practice defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and well-being, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Three (3) years of recent experience in acute mental health care preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of psychiatric medications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care and promoting a positive work environment.
