Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snowboard Instructor to join our team at the Big White Kids Centre. As a Snowboard Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering lessons to children aged 3-12, developing lesson content, and evaluating student progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver high-quality snowboard lessons to children, following the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CASI) and Big White Ski & Board School's teaching methodology.
  • Lesson Planning: Develop engaging and challenging lesson content to create a safe and fun learning experience for students.
  • Student Evaluation: Evaluate student progress and complete achievement records to track student development.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Act with diligence to safeguard guests and fellow workers, and take appropriate action to deal with incidents and emergencies as per company procedures.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Work cooperatively with Big White staff, and maintain open communication to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for students and their families.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Minimum of CASI Level 2 (or international equivalent) and above is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with children in an organized setting is preferred (e.g. ski school, summer camps, etc.).
  • Education and Training: All applicants should submit a cover letter and resume with two contactable references, and include a copy of any relevant current certifications.
Physical Demands
  • Physical Ability: Ability to carry 40lbs/18kg while skiing/riding, assist a fallen skier/snowboarder back onto their feet, and lift 40lbs/18kg.
  • Endurance: Ability to ski/ride for 6-7 hours a day.
