As a key member of the Health & Safety department, you will contribute to incident investigations, process analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will have the opportunity to conduct physical demand analyses (PDA) and risk assessments, ensuring safe work practices are implemented throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety team on incident investigations, process analysis, and process improvement activities.
  • Conduct physical demand analyses (PDA) and risk assessments for processes in a manufacturing setting.
  • Support the development and implementation of an enhanced stretching program, transitioning from static to dynamic stretches.
  • Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and assist in addressing open concerns.
  • Work with various functional departments on continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments utilizing tools such as Physical Demands Analysis forms, RULA, REBA, Video Analysis, NIOSH, SNOOKE tables, etc.
  • Coordinate aspects of the Return-to-Work program, ensuring suitable job bundles for employees and maintaining a log of participants.
  • Liaise with Human Resources to enhance plant training on the Return-to-Work program.
  • Educate Alfield supervision on effective Standard Work Instructions.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a co-op program in a related field such as Health and Safety, Engineering, Kinesiology, or Advanced Ergonomics.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
