At Alberta Health Services, we're seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing emergent intervention, screening, and mental health assessment services to adults with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders.
Description:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing treatment, and case management services to individuals with mental health issues. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health assessments and provide treatment services to individuals with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address client needs
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support
- Provide education and support to clients and their families
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing
- Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of local Indigenous communities and experience in Indigenous culture
- Understanding of the politically sensitive nature of working with multiple culturally diverse individuals and groups
