We are seeking a dedicated Live-In Child Care Provider to assist in the nurturing and supervision of children within a family setting. This role requires a compassionate individual who can provide a safe and supportive environment for children.
Employment Details- Work Term: Temporary
- Work Language: English
- Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years or equivalent experience
- Non-smoking household
- Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (not a condition of employment)
- Work primarily in the employer's home
- Assist with toilet training as guided by parents
- Take full responsibility for household duties in the absence of parents
- Perform light cleaning and housekeeping tasks
- Accompany family on trips, providing child supervision and assisting with household duties
- Care for infants and children, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Implement discipline methods as instructed by parents
- Guide children in personal hygiene and social skills
- Maintain records of daily activities and health information for children
- Ensure a safe and healthy home environment
- Organize engaging activities such as games and outings
- Prepare and serve healthy meals
- Assist children in transitioning to rest periods
- Supervise and provide care for children
- Transport children to and from school and appointments
- Support the emotional well-being of children
- Assist with homework as needed
- Prepare meals
- Ability to supervise and care for a diverse group of children
- Child Abuse Registry check, Criminal record check, and Vulnerable sector check required
- References required
- Capable of handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs)
- Willingness to work overtime and manage physically demanding tasks
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, organization, time management, patience, and honesty
