Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all systems engineering tasks align with Safran Electronics and Defense Canada procedures.
  • Oversee the certification process and manage systems engineering documentation, including ARP4754A/DO-254/DO-178/DO-160.
  • Analyze Environmental and EMI/EMC (DO-160) requirements, supporting qualification tests and results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, electrical, software) to guide design and subsystem integration.
  • Lead technical risk assessments, problem-solving, and mitigation efforts throughout the development cycle.
  • Perform root cause analysis on issues, and provide technical leadership in validation, verification, and product testing.
  • Conduct and lead technical/customer reviews, audits, and product testing activities.
  • Drive the design process to meet key milestones and ensure all development goals are achieved.
  • Provide support to existing programs, conducting investigations, integration, and program review meetings.
Required Skills:
  • Translate customer needs into technical and architectural solutions that balance both customer and business objectives.
  • Lead development teams, manage subcontractor work packages, and meet project milestones.
  • Develop and analyze ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-178, and DO-160 plans, managing environmental and EMC/EMI requirements.
  • Lead all phases of product development, from requirements to verification and validation.
  • Take a leadership role in solving technical issues, managing risks, and driving decision-making processes in technical and project reviews.
