Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team at North York General Hospital. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of laboratory specimens, performing phlebotomy and ECG procedures, and providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and prepare specimens for testing and referral
- Receive patients, staff, and visitors to the laboratory
- Perform blood collection (venipunctures and capillary punctures) and ECGs
- Enter information into the lab computer and generate reports and work lists
- Handle and distribute reports, record sheets, and specimens
Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- OSMT/CSMLS Certification or equivalent
- Hospital experience preferred
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset
