Position Summary

America Fujikura Limited (AFL) is on the lookout for Telecommunications Field Service Technicians (FST) to support our operations.

The primary focus for our Field Service Technicians will be to deliver exceptional customer service while installing and maintaining products associated with modern home technology, including home networking, telecommunication services, high-speed internet, digital television, and security systems.

Technicians will also have the chance to promote and recommend additional services and products to enhance customer satisfaction.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:

  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer experiences, effectively manage objections, and navigate both positive and negative customer interactions.
  • Proficient in solutions-based selling, with a knack for recommending and upselling products and services.
  • Normal color vision is essential for working with color-coded wiring.
  • Capable of handling a physically demanding workload (up to 60 lbs.), which may involve heavy lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, as required by business needs.
  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Self-driven, with effective decision-making abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills, along with the ability to work at heights or on ladders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across departments.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols and regulations.
  • Willingness to work in locations that may limit the ability to return home.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and a demonstrated ability to apply new skills effectively.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of at least Grade 11 Math.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in sales and customer service is advantageous.
  • Experience or education in telecommunications is preferred; however, comprehensive training will be provided.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must obtain and maintain a Security Alarm Installer License from the relevant provincial authority.
  • Clean driving records are mandatory; a driver's abstract will be required prior to employment.
  • Pre-employment criminal background checks are necessary.
  • Comfortable with a performance-based compensation structure.

WORK LOCATION:

The position will involve travel within designated service areas.
