Key Responsibilities- Child Care and Development: Provide high-quality care and support to children, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and engaging in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Household Management: Manage the household, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children.
- Education and Enrichment: Plan and implement educational activities, games, and outings that promote learning and development.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy environment, including administering medication, handling emergencies, and ensuring the children's overall well-being.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care and support.
- Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in child care or a related field.
- Certifications and Training: CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
- Personal Qualities: Flexibility, initiative, organized, reliable, time management, patience, and honesty.
The Home Child Care Provider will work in a non-smoking environment, with optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Public transportation is available.
Security and Safety- Criminal Record Check: A criminal record check is required.
- Language Support: The employer participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
- Settlement Support: The employer assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
- Labour Market Integration: The employer supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
- Youth Employment: The employer participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
- On-the-Job Training: The employer offers on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Mentorship: The employer offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
- Indigenous Employment: The employer participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
